Physical quantities such as fluid flow, temperature, pressure and liquid level are the important parameters of chemical production and experiment, and controlling the value of these physical quantities is an important means to control chemical production and experimental research. Therefore, these parameters must be measured accurately to determine the working condition of the fluid. The instruments used to measure these parameters are collectively known as chemical measuring instruments. Whether selection or design, to achieve reasonable use of measuring instruments, we must have enough understanding of measuring instruments. There are many kinds of chemical measuring instruments. This chapter mainly introduces some basic knowledge of commonly used measuring instruments in chemical laboratory and chemical production.
Chemical measurement instrument consists of three basic parts: detection (including transmission), transmission and display. The detection part is in direct contact with the detected medium, and transforms the measured flow, temperature, level and pressure signals into easily transmitted physical quantities, such as mechanical forces, electrical signals, according to different working principles and methods; the transmitted part only transmits signal energy; the display part converts the transferred physical signals into readable signals, and the common display forms include records, etc. According to different needs, the three basic parts of detection, transmission and display can be integrated into one instrument or dispersed into several instruments. When the control room operates on the field equipment, the detection part is in the field, the display part is in the control room, and the transmission part is in between the two.
The measuring range and accuracy of the selected instrument must be considered in selecting the selected instrument to avoid too large or too small.
